Eliot Lipp is a busy man. Last year he released The Outside (one my favorite records of 2008), the debut from Galaxy Toobin' (his side project with Speculator), and began doing shows with his live band Lipp Service (Eliot Lipp + Alex B + Lane Shaw).
He's not resting on his laurels in 2009 either. Last week he dropped Peace Love Weed 3D, the first full length released on his new imprint Old Tacoma Records.
With a title like Peace Love Weed 3D and song lengths of 4:20 you would think this would be a laid back, psychedelic affair but that's certainly not the case. Rather the album is full of cross-genre analog synth workouts that range from crisp hip-hop to shimmery techno to spacey electro. All of which sound dope. Definitely check for this one.
