PUREXED...
This one came out a few months ago but I never caught wind of it. This is "Purexed" by P.O.S. from Never Better, one of my favorite hip-hop albums of 2009. Courtesy of Rhymesayers.

US...
Out today on Rhymesayers is Us, the new album from one of hip-hop's most charismatic voices, Brother Ali. As usual, Ant handles all of the production duties on Us delivering another batch of lush, soulful beats for the Street Preacher to bless.

THE SAUCE...
Out this week is The Sauce, the debut album from NY duo Josh Mayer (The Glitch Mob) and Marty Folb (Marty Party) collectively known as PANTyRAiD.
The boys display some versatility on their debut collabo delivering an album that ranges from crunked up hip-hop to wobbly dubstep to moody ambient soundscapes. Check out "Crunkalicious" below. Courtesy of Marine Parade.

CENTRAL MARKET...
Also out this week is Central Market, the Warp debut from Battles vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist (often concurrently) Tyondai Braxton. Truly unclassifiable, Central Market is best described as multi-layered wordless orchestral music. Sample "Uffe's Woodshop" after the jump.

MAN ON THE MOON: THE END OF DAY...
Next up is Man On The Moon: The End of Day, the long-awaited debut from sing song hip-hop dynamo KiD CuDi. I've been eagerly awaiting this release for some time now but I must admit I haven't been blown away by the early singles. I'm anxious to hear the record a few times through and see how it settles.

DR. NO'S ETHIOPIUM...
Lots of new music dropping this week. First up is Dr. No's Ethiopium, the latest instrumental opus from Stones Throw beat maker Oh No.
Ethiopium is constructed from rare 60's and 70's Ethiopian funk, jazz, soul, and psychedelic rock samples much like Dr. No's Oxperiment was built on Turkish, Lebanese, and Italian samples. Don't sleep on this one.

DAY 'N' NITE (CROOKERS REMIX)...
This coming Tuesday marks the release of the highly anticipated debut from KiD CuDi entitled Man On The Moon: The End of Day. To get you warmed up for the album here is an old/new video from Cudder for "Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix)".

A CERTAIN DISTANCE...
Also out this week is A Certain Distance, the new album from Ghostly recording artist Lusine. Previous releases from Lusine have been a little too "techno" for my taste, but ACD employs more overt pop structures and melodies giving the album a warmer feel. I dig it.

GREEN + GOLD...
Out today via Tirk Records is Green + Gold, the debut long player from electronic hip-hop beatsmith Architeq.
Last year Architeq released the well-received Birds of Prey EP which subsequently got the remix treatment from like-minded producers such as Kelpe, Fulgeance, DéBruit, and James Pants.
G+G carries forth the momentum from Birds of Prey and delivers the goods with 14 tracks full of dubby sci-fi backdrops, buzzing synths, and stuttering hip-hop beats. Listen below.

NoDoz: MIKE SLOTT
Next up for a NoDoz nomination is future-looking instrumental hip-hop producer Mike Slott.
Slott, who also records with fellow NoDoz alumni Hudson Mohawke as Heralds of Change has been compared to fellow forward thinking beat maker Flying Lotus whom he recently remixed on the L.A. 2x3 EP.
To this point Mike's solo material is limited to a series of singles for the All City imprint out of Dublin but the momentum behind this kid is building so I surmise a full-length release is not too far off. Check out "My Lightbridge" below.

STATUS...
A few weeks back this little gem from Dark Party (Eliot Lipp + Leo 123) entitled "Status" popped up online. The duo was supposed to release a full-length DP record last year on Mush but it never came to fruition. Hopefully it will see the light of day sometime in 2009. Check out the goods below.

A STRANGE ARRANGEMENT...
A Strange Arrangement, the buzz worthy debut from unlikely soul sensation Mayer Hawthorne has officially arrived in digital format, one week ahead of the physical CD release.
Mr. Hawthorne (a.k.a. DJ Haircut) has received a lot of love on these digital pages for his early singles "Just Ain't Gonna Work Out" and "Maybe So, Maybe No", the former of which was even included on the sp2008 mix.
In case you need further convincing that Mayer is the real deal, check out "Make Her Mine" after the jump. Courtesy of Stones Throw.

TOEACHIZOWN VOL. 3: LIFE...
Dâm-Funk returns with Life, the 3rd digital release (of 5) from his Toeachizown project. This particular batch of songs focuses on "relationships" and features vocals from Dâm himself on every track.
More melodic electro-funk from the reigning champ of the genre. Available now at the Stones Throw online store.

PROTAGONISTS...
Back in 2002, the duo of Murs & Slug came together as Felt and delivered their debut, A Tribute to Christina Ricci, with The Grouch on production. In 2005, they returned with A Tribute to Lisa Bonet with Ant behind the boards.
On November 17th they'll drop their latest effort, A Tribute to Rosie Perez, with none other than Aesop Rock on the beats. The first single from the album is "Protagonists", check it out after the jump.
