One of my favorite hip-hop albums from 2008, the self-titled debut from Johnson&Jonson (Blu + Mainframe) is being released in instrumental format this week. Now you can soak up those dusty Mainframe beats sans Blu.

UP ALL NIGHT...
New video from Johnson&Jonson. This is "Up All Night" from Blu & Mainframe's self-titled 2008 release on Tres Records. Not my favorite track off the record, but Blu definitely does his thing.

BOUT IT, BOUT IT...
Man, I'm really starting to feel this Johnson&Jonson record. It didn't hit me right away like Below the Heavens did last year, but the more I listen the better it gets. I know you bout it, bout it but it's how you go about it!

J&J...

Another notable new release this week is the debut from Johnson&Jonson on Tres Records. For those not in the know, J&J consists of up and coming emcee Blu (a stay puft favorite) and producer Mainframe. Together they make no frills indie hip-hop. The formula is simple...
J&J = dusty beats from vintage samples + clever braggadocio rhymes

C.R.A.C. - Collect.Respect.Anna.Check.

Blu (who has become quite the regular here on Stay Puft) is back again with C.R.A.C. (pronounced "crass"), his project with Detroit emcee/producer Ta'Raach on Tres. Produced entirely by Ta'Raach, The Piece Talks has a gritty yet soulful vibe that would make Dilla proud.
