Rounding out the new releases for the week is the stateside release of TSOL from Canadian rap sensation Shad. Great beats. Great lyrics. Destined to be one of my favorite hip-hop records this year.

NoDoz alumni Shad absolutely blacks out on this one!!! This is "Yaa I Get It" from the recently released TSOL. Amazing.

ROSE GARDEN...

New video from highly underrated Canadian emcee Shad. This is "Rose Garden" from his latest effort TSOL. The album is already available in Canada but hasn't been released in the US yet. Hopefully it arrives soon.

BROTHER (WATCHING)...

This video from Shad actually precedes the one I blogged about last week, but I'm just now getting around to posting it. By far one of my favorite joints from The Old Prince. Peep it.

THE OLD PRINCE STILL LIVES AT HOME...

NoDoz alumni Shad is back with a new video for "The Old Prince Still Lives at Home". The video features a spot-on tribute to the opening segment of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, that is until...well, just watch.

NoDoz: SHAD

The second installment of NoDoz profiles Shad, an up and coming emcee/producer based out of Toronto. His sophomore album The Old Prince, dropped late last year and received high praise from both press and fellow artists alike.



Shad displays an obvious affection for Native Tongues era hip-hop in both his rhyme style and production taste. Soulful beats abound, complementing his laid back, easy going flow.
