PUREXED...

This one came out a few months ago but I never caught wind of it. This is "Purexed" by P.O.S. from Never Better, one of my favorite hip-hop albums of 2009. Courtesy of Rhymesayers.

Out today on Rhymesayers is Us, the new album from one of hip-hop's most charismatic voices, Brother Ali. As usual, Ant handles all of the production duties on Us delivering another batch of lush, soulful beats for the Street Preacher to bless.

PROTAGONISTS...

Back in 2002, the duo of Murs & Slug came together as Felt and delivered their debut, A Tribute to Christina Ricci, with The Grouch on production. In 2005, they returned with A Tribute to Lisa Bonet with Ant behind the boards.

On November 17th they'll drop their latest effort, A Tribute to Rosie Perez, with none other than Aesop Rock on the beats. The first single from the album is "Protagonists", check it out after the jump.

DRUMROLL...

Never Better from P.O.S. is easily one of my favorite hip-hop albums to come out this year. Check out the Children of Men inspired video for "Drumroll" below. It's dope.

Brother Ali (one of my favorite MCs doing it) is back with The Truth Is Here, a mini release of sorts featuring b-sides and unreleased tracks.



Once again, Ali kills it behind the mic. Take for example "Philistine David", where he spits from the perspective of a teenage Palestinian struggling with his future as a potential suicide bomber. Skills.

OPTIMIST...

Minneapolis MC P.O.S. comes through with a new video for "Optimist", his second from Never Better, his latest release on Rhymesayers. Quality video treatment reminiscent of Aesop Rock's "Fast Cars".

The debut from Seattle hip-hop producer Jake One entitled White Van Music officially hits the streets today courtesy of Rhymesayers.

Seattle hip-hop producer Jake One is set to drop his debut solo joint White Van Music on October 7th courtesy of Rhymesayers. The album features a crazy mix of emcees (both mainstream & underground) including this little ditty with DOOM. The hotness.

The Twin Cities duo of Slug & Ant, collectively known as Atmosphere return today with their new record When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold. Best album title of the year? Me thinks so.
