Also out this week is Shutter Release, the sophomore full-length from brotherly post-rock duo Lymbyc Systym. The Brothers Bell deliver another batch of grandiose arrangements full of stacked keys, busy drums, majestic brass, and disembodied vocals. This is A+ headphone music for sure.

GHOST CLOCK...

Brotherly post-rock duo Lymbyc Systym leaked the first single from their forthcoming album Shutter Release last month via RCRD LBL. The song is called "Ghost Clock" and it represents a nice step forward for the band as they look to incorporate a wider range of instruments/sounds into their moody compositions. Listen below.

JUST BRIEFLY...

Another quick video strike. This is Daedelus with "Just Briefly" from his 2005 release Exquisite Corpse. I was bumping this record non-stop when it originally dropped and it still sounds great today.

I've pretty much got a musical man-crush on this dude. For instrumental electro hip-hop goodness, look no further than Eliot Lipp. His new record, The Outside is out today on Mush Records. I'm all over it.

BLOWN DEADLINE...

This little bloggy-blog was supposed to be up roughly 2 months ago but as anyone who knows me can tell you, I'm a slow mover (cue footage of Bill & Karolyn Slowsky). Anyhow, 2007 was a monster year for music so I'd like to kick things off with a few of my favorite videos from the past year.

First up, is "Truth Skull" from Lymbyc Systym. This two-man band (brothers Jared & Michael Bell) from Tempe, Arizona got some serious digital spins from me in the 07.

Their first full length release, Love Your Abuser, was pretty much my work-time soundtrack for like 3 straight months. No joke.
