Out this week courtesy of Black Acre is the Margins EP from NoDoz alumni Kelpe. The EP features 4 new tracks from the UK beatsmith. You can definitely hear the influence of new label mates Blue Daisy and Tokimonsta throughout... and that's a good thing. Check for this one.

CAMBIO WECHSEL...

The new album from Kelpe, Cambio Wechsel, came out a few weeks back and since I picked it up it's been in heavy rotation. The NoDoz alumni delivers the goods with 12 new jams filled with psyched out electronics, buzzing melodies, and fuzzy bass-lines. All good things.

MICROSCOPE CONTENTS...

NoDoz alumni Kelpe returns this week with Microscope Contents, the first single from the forthcoming Cambio Wechsel full-length. The 12" features 3 new songs from Kelpe in addition to remixes from Slugabed, Planes, and Eliot Lipp. Check out the video below.

NoDoz: KELPE

This week is all about NoDoz. First up is London beatsmith Kelpe. Kelpe, born Kel McKeown, makes instrumental hip-hop with an underwater theme that recalls the wistful melodies of Boards of Canada and the folktronic pastiche of Four Tet.



Kelpe's latest album, Ex-Aquarium, continues to explore the world of watery beats as he seamlessly blends moody synthesizers, haunting melodies, and crisp drum work. For a taste of Kelpe's aquatic goodness, check out "Yippee Space Ghost (Sidversion)" below.
