PLACES EP...

Out this week courtesy of Friends of Friends is the Places EP from hotly-tipped electronic beat maker Shlohmo. I really like the new direction on this EP. The crunchy basslines and boom-bap energy of previous releases have been replaced with moody, introspective soundscapes that really spread out nicely. Highly recommended.

Also out this week via FoF Music is Complex Housing, the debut full-length from SF-based electro-funkateer Salva. The album feature ten original productions and several remixes from the likes Lando Kal, Machinedrum and My Dry Wet Mess. It's solid from front to back. Recommended.

Shlomoshun features 9 original productions from Shlohmo in addition to remixes from Tokimonsta, devonwho, Fulgeance, & Low Limit. Fans of the LA beat scene (Flying Lotus, GLK, Nosaj Thing, etc.) should be all over this.
