Also out this week via Plug Research is Radio - AM/FM the new remix project from hip-hop beatmaker par excellence, Exile.
The album features remixes from Shafiq Husayn, Samiyam, Free the Robots, Knxwledge and more in addition to guest vocals from J. Mitchell, Muhsinah, Blu, Alchemist, Evidence, Fashawn, Aloe Blacc and more. A must have. Don't miss this one.
The Blessings are DomSum and Martyn Flyn, the creative forces behind one of the hottest labels on the beat scene, Glasgow's LuckyMe. This week they released their debut EP, Galaxy High via Nod Navigators. Soncially, it's a blend of 80's R'n'B nostalgia, electro and midnight funk. Fans of Hudson Mohawke and Mike Slott should be all over this one.
Fresh new video from Baths. This is "Lovely Bloodflow" from the stellar Cerulean on anticon. One of my favorite tracks from a record full of great songs. Video directed by Young Replicant.
Like free stuff? If so, head on over to Turntable Lab and download Secret Hangout Vol.2, the new compilation from Money Studies. The album features production from Snack & Cmish, Blu Jemz, CB Radio, Michna and more. Check out "Smooth One" from Snack & Cmish after the jump.
The fellas from The Glitch Mob have teamed up with clothing label MishkaNYC to bring you Drink The Sea Part 2: The Mixtape. The mix features music from Drink The Sea spliced with vocal clips from Nas, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre, Mobb Deep, Drake and many more. Click here to download.
This one has been out for awhile now but I never posted it for one reason or another. Anyhow, check out the video for "Still Love" by Pollyn from their debut full-length This Little Night. Love the song and love the visual treatment.
More free music from up and coming electronic producer Com Truise. This is Pyragony/Tripya, the latest digi-12" from the New Jersey resident. Check the audio below and click here to download.
Invincible and Waajeed, two of Detroit's most visionary hip-hop figures are teaming up for a new record in the coming year. This is "Detroit Summer/Emergence", the first single from the project. Check it.
"Mouthful of Diamonds" from Phantogram has been getting some serious digi-spins of late and the accompanying video is flawless. Taken from Eyelid Movies on Ghostly International. Video directed by Drew Norton. Check it.
Out now is Proximity One: Narrative of a City, the latest release from upstart electronic imprint Proximal Records.
The album is a compilation featuring a plethora of LA-based talent including Dâm-Funk, Daedelus, Shlohmo, Take, Teebs, TOKiMONSTA, and more. Highlights are aplenty but my personal favorite is "Conversations With Yesterday" from Take. Listen below.
Out this week via Ammunition is Outside the Box, the new full-length effort from dubstep pioneer Skream. The album is a little hit and miss for me as Skream bounces from genre to genre but the collabo with DBridge and Instra:mental on "Reflections" is spot on. Check out the audio after the leap.
Stones Throw comes through with a solid freebie. Sign up for their newsletter and receive a download link for the Donut Shop EP from the J Dilla x Serato collabo. The EP features 3 unreleased tracks and 3 previously unreleased instrumentals for Mos Def, Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes.
New video from Exile, hip-hop beat maker par excellence. This is "Your Summer Song (Remix)" featuring J. Mitchell from the forthcoming AM/FM on Plug Research. Brilliant stuff.
Highly skilled DC resident Wale returns this week with More About Nothing, his second Seinfeld inspired mixtape. I tend to like Wale's mixtape material more than his "official" releases so I'm excited for this one. Click here to download.
Out today via Gold Dust is Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3, the new mixtape from Def Jux head honcho El-P. Comprised of original instrumentals alongside a few remixes, Hell3 functions primarily as a stopgap album. Surprisingly though, the album is more killer than filler. Longtime fans of El-Producto will not be disappointed.
New video from electro-funk duo Chromeo. This is "Don't Turn The Lights On" from the forthcoming Business Casual due on August 17th. This one is infectious.
